Justin has encountered some crazy weather up at Dinosaur National Monument, where he's working. A few weeks ago, he and another guy working up there were outside of their work trailers watching the lightning, taking pictures and video. Steve Elkins, the other guy taking video, was struck by lightning. He posted the video to You Tube and I'm adding it here. Justin is the other voice in the background. He had his camera a few inches away from his face and felt the electricity, but wasn't directly hit. Luckily and miraculously, neither camera was injured.
When he returned to his "work home" on August 1st, he drove through another storm. He stopped around Strawberry to take these pictures as the sun was setting. No, these pictures have not been photo-shopped other than to remove some car headlights.

Wow! That is crazy! I'm so glad that they weren't hurt. Sure made for some beautiful pictures. These would be fun to blow up and hang in your house. Cute blog Janeil...what a fun mama you are!
