A little while ago, I was talking with either my mom or my mom-in-law about Austin and Christmas. I was saying now that he is 2, he’s so much fun for Christmas. He recognizes all the Christmas-y things and LOVES them (except for live santa). I made the comment out loud (first mistake) that he doesn’t quite realize yet that Santa brings him presents, but that’s okay, because he just loves all this fun stuff.
Fast forward to this morning. I was deep cleaning my room (translation, dusting and garbaging) because I have misplaced my wedding ring (a story for another day). Austin saw a Paper Jamz and said, “Mommy, see that?” Oops! I said, “No, it’s for Trenton (my nephew). Do you want to help me wrap it?” “YES! Wrap it! Woo Hoo! Help you.” We wrapped it no problem. We even put in under the tree.
I left the kid sitting on my floor driving cars while I hopped in the shower (mistake number two). I came out and he said, “I DID IT!” Uh oh!
So, I guess he now understands that there are presents under the tree and I need to move them. On the upside, it is a cool toy, Austin even told me, “Momma, cool geetar.” I already learned where the volume is and Trenton is going to LOVE the new one Tyson picks out for him!
