This year, I found a very cute idea online and decided I needed to recreate it for Christmas gifts for my kids’ teachers this year. My ultra-talented friend, Pam, from Pamela Donnis Designs graciously allowed me to use items from her digital kit, “School Stuff,” to make it for you too!
The file is 4 inches x 22 inches (two papers together). The usable area on most large candles is 4 inches x 12-1/2 inches.
Here’s the finished Product:
For those who don’t need a play-by-play, here’s the finished product for you to download:
Materials Needed:
Large Candle
Glue (I used glue lines)
Glitter Glue (optional, but really cute)
INSTRUCTIONS:
Print out two copies of the paper onto nice paper (Cardstock or photo paper). Make sure you have the layout as “Landscape.”
Trim the papers to size.
Glue the two pieces together on one end and then trim to 12-1/2 to 13 inches in length.
Glue one end of the paper to the candle (the Glue Lines work really well here). Wrap paper around candle and secure at the other end.
Trim paper around the quote.
This part is really important. Put adhesive as close to the edges of the quote as possible. Otherwise, the paper has a tendency to pull up at the edges due to the rounded candle. Lots of adhesive close to the edge helps a lot! Apply to the candle!
If you choose (but really, you should choose), outline the quote with some glitter glue. I’m hoping your piping is better than mine, but look how cute!
Thanks, Pam, for letting me share your great designs!
I'm copying this! Thanks for the idea! Now I have to hurry and buy a candle for Andrew's teacher!!
